Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum)
Giant Sequoias are known as the largest trees on earth by volume. They are native only to the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and should not be confused with their relative, the Coast Redwood, which is often found near the coast. They can reach heights of over 300 ft, but many of the largest ones are between 200 and 300 ft. They also can live to be over 3,000 years old. Meet the world’s most massive tree.
